Frequently Asked Questions

How Long Will My Order Take To Arrive?

On average our UK Mainland orders are delivered within 1-2 working days, unless you have made alternative arrangements with our Sales Team.

We recommend seeking our advice before placing a time-sensitive order so we may confirm a delivery date that suits your requirements.

  • Pre-built posts and self-closing gates are available on a 2-4 day lead time.
  • Powder coating or ‘blackened’ items can take up to 7-10 working days to be prepared and delivered. Large or significantly heavy orders may be transported via our own fleet on a 2-4 day basis. Our standard shipping terms do not include Weekend, Bank Holiday, or Evening deliveries – however we can make specific arrangements on request.
  • International orders, on average, take around 2-5 working days to arrive. However, this does not factor in any customs delays and your specific location

What couriers do you use?

If your order consists of any type of tube, your order will be delivered via Tuffnells Parcels Express. Most of our small parcel deliveries are completed by UK Mail, which is now part of DHL.

International orders are dispatched by UPS or DPD, depending on the destination.

We reserve the right to change the courier depending on the weight and dimensions of your order.

Large orders may be delivered on a pallet – which may require unloading gear to be made available upon delivery. If you have any queries regarding our delivery options then please contact us.

Usually, we can offer an ‘AM’ or ‘Pre 10:30’ delivery at an additional cost. Please contact our Sales Team for advice on cost.

Is your tube and fittings available in other colours, e.g. Blue, Black, or Yellow?

Of course! The colouring process we recommend is powdercoating. Powdercoating adds a quality look and feel to our tubing and fittings, and we offer a very competitive quotation on any RAL colour that is available.

Powdercoating usually adds 1 week onto the delivery time, longer if a bespoke colour is required, or current workload is high, so please allow for this.

Due to the nature of galvanised steel, powdercoating when viewed up close does sometimes show minor imperfections, but these imperfections shouldnt affect the look and strength of the powdercoat.

Am I able to visit you to collect my order?

Certainly! While we are primarily a fabrication shop & warehouse - we have made provision for a small trade counter, and love to see our customers, with their ideas and such.

If you are planning on making a large order, or anything that is cut to size, we do recommend dropping us an email or giving us a call so we can assess the workload and let you know the best time to come to us, purely to save you waiting around!

How strong are these fittings? How much can they hold?

The reality is with a lot of applications that the weakest point is where the fittings terminate - e.g. wall fixings, floor fixings, etc. Essentially, being steel, these fittings in an everyday use are more than strong enough.

Grub screws are rated to 900kg slip loading when tightened correctly. If you are worried about slip, you can increase this further with locking collars or sleeves. Generally speaking, key clamp applications are good for everything up until crowd loading becomes an issue (football stadiums, auditoriums, theatres, etc)
